Taylor’s Baseball Wknd

Taylor’s 13U Dragon’s baseball spent their 3rd wknd in a row in Oxford playing baseball! Taylor had an awesome day today hitting the ball! He picked up multiple hits! Here are some pictures of the team eating lunch out over the two wknds!

Griffin’s Championship Basketball Game

Today was a super, big day! Griffin was playing in back to back championship games-1st grade and 2nd grade BCS teams!!! Funny enough, we were a different team, but competing against the same Grace Knights team. We came up short today and lost 32-18, but Griffin played his heart out! He had 16 unbelievable points! He drove to the basket, made free throws and 3 jump shots! Following the game, the director at Grace introduced himself to Griffin and said he loved watching him play because he never gave up. Actually his exact words were as follows: ‘do you know why you are my favorite player to watch!’ The opposing coach took a little time to talk to Griffin too. Here are some pictures from the exciting game!

2nd Round Playoffs

Today we played ECS in the semi-finals at Briarcrest! Griffin loves playing on these courts! Hopefully one day, he can be a Varsity Saint and play on these courts! He had a great game today and scored 12 points! He got an And1 on the very 1st play of the game! He created many jump balls and got probably 7-8 rebounds! We were winning at halftime by 1 point. The second half was closer and we had to battle every possession. Griffin had a super drive (used his cross over) towards the end of the game for a lay-up! It really help seal the deal. Griffin has made it into the championship game 2 years in a row! We play the Grace Knights next Saturday in the Championship Game!

1st Round Playoffs

Our team played in the 2nd game at Grace Evan Vs The Grizzlies. It was our 4th match-up with the same team. We won 29-22. It was a battle though. Griffin had an amazing night- his jump shots were falling and he was driving the ball to the basket for numerous layups! He finished with 16 pts. I love watching my boy play ball. He could shoot all day in the driveway and he did today. We had President’s Day and he literally filled his day with basketball. 

Sunday Morning in Oxford

Today, we woke in Oxford after an early bedtime! We grabbed McD and then headed to the field. Taylor played at 11:30 and Griffin’s game started at 12:00. He started at 3rd base!

Big Saturday!

Today was such a fun day! We started the day at 8:30 with Griffin’s basketball game! Bcs vs Grizzlies. Griffin had a fabulous game- he drove the ball, he made jump shots and rebounded the ball. He scored 14 points for his team. Actually, Griffin has the 1st 8 points of the game! After his win, we grabbed Zaxby’s and drove to Oxford to watch Taylor play baseball. Dragons vs Rays. Taylor was the starting pitcher....he did okay. He gave up 3 runs, but struck out 2. He also got an RBI and the only run batted in for the team. Taylor lost 1-3. We then walked over to Griffin’s game at 2:00. Dragons vs Kenny’s Cardinals. Griffin batted one time and popped up. We got run ruled and lost 14-1. We then checked into the hotel quickly and back to the ballpark! Taylor plays at 4 and Griffin plays at 5.
