Griffin Helping Daddy

Trey spent all day Saturday in the yard. He cleaned out the flower beds, trimmed the shrubs, mowed and used the weed eater. Griffin enjoyed playing outside and even enjoyed helping daddy mow for the 1st time! With two boys, Dad has many helpers for the future!

The Brady Lemonade Stand for St. Jude

School is out and nothing says summer like a Lemonade Stand. Caroline has been talking and planning all year about this event (posters were actually made this time last year). I had promised her that we would make it happen this summer. We tried on the 1st half day, but it rained this past Wednesday. We planned for Friday following our last school events: Incredible Pizza/Movie and Ice Cream. We grabbed Subway about 11:45 and headed home to get ready for the lemonade stand. School was out for the summer.  Daddy had taken off from work and helped to set up the tent. I began sending out texts to friends to get the word out. It was so fun because many people got to come (The Greens, The Simpsons, Cole Carpender). Many people driving by in the neighborhood stopped, including two or three lawn companies. We raised 77$ for St. Jude. It was a fun way to start the summer break!

Caroline's 1st Soccer Tournament

Today, Caroline and I went to Olive Branch for her 1st ever all-day soccer tournament! Five of Caroline's teammates from her Ole team formed a 3v3 team and entered their 1st tournament. Ella's dad organized the team and helped coach, too! We arrived in Olive Branch to find a beautiful complex. The girls were given pink ribbon to remember Sadie's cousin, who had died. They passed out special wrist bands that said, "TRUST." The day was going well. We played at 10:30 vs their fellow Ole teammates (Lauren, Addie, Addison). We won that game. We moved to our next game at 11:30, then at 1:00. We lost the 1:00 game to a really tough team called The Lightening. We then headed into the semi-finals at 2:00. We had to play our fellow Ole teammates again. Lauren's dad didn't coach this time, Coach Amy coached the team. A few of us didn't think that was fair. They ended up beating us in a really tight game. Caroline only played a little bit because she got a really bad blister. She was upset that she couldn't help her team. Our soccer day ended at 2:30 and we headed to Cameron Brown Park for Griffin's t'ball game. It was a fun day, filled with a fun soccer tournament. Here are some pictures of the girls.

Griffin's 5th B'day Party-Powell Park

We had Griffin's 5th birthday party at a local park in Collierville. It was a beautiful May day. We rented the pavilion and invited his classmates. Taylor actually had a baseball tournament that weekend at the baseball fields behind the pavilion. It was convenient to set up, but I missed daddy's help. He had two church commitments and couldn't get there til right before. It was windy that day, so many of my centerpieces didn't work. Here below are pictures from the Paw Patrol party!

Mother's Day & Tigers Baseball

It was a great Mother's Day! The kids brought me breakfast in bed-donuts, Diet Coke and a Kit Kat!!! They showered me with cards. Taylor had made a People Magazine booklet explaining why his mom should be in a magazine-it made me cry. We then went to church as a family, then headed to the ballpark. Taylor's 1st game was at 2:00. We played the Destoto Cardinals. They had beat us yesterday, but we hit the ball hard today, and won 11-9. Taylor made the last out. Next, we made it into the championship game at 4:00.  We played the Fusion 8 Navy. We jumped out to a 4-0 lead. Taylor had a super game. He got a ground rule double, a triple and 1 HR.  The Tigers won the championship game 13-8. After the game, we ate dinner as a team at Buffalo Wild Wings. It was a long, great day!!!
